Batman #25 - Story 3

August 9, 1944

"The Mesmerized Manhunter"

Another cute entry as Alfred goes to the theater to try and debunk the illusionist Mazzo. He volunteers to be hypnotized and Mazzo tells him he is a great detective. In his dazed state, Alfred recalls how the box office couldn't change his ten as it didn't have enough money, but the theater was packed.

He snoops about the theater and spooks the box office ticket taker who it turns out stole the money. He tries to escape and runs into a police officer. The man was given a chance by the theater despite having a record. The crowd cheers as Alfred is brought out of his state and he runs off only to read the account later in the papers with Bruce and Dick.

Tomorrow, we'll finish up this anthology issue, Citizens!
